About Us

JAKIN Pregnancy Care and Counselling is a Leicester/shire charity (new CIO reg no. 1181151) run by Christians, for anyone struggling with pregnancy issues.  In 2001 we opened at The Kings Centre in Wigston, and now also operate out of other community centres who have invited us in.

Due to government guidelines we cannot have face to face sessions at our centres but we can support you by offering telephone counselling.
Please text or give us a call on 07599 397938 Weekdays 9-5pm
    • We aim to offer a safe place to talk freely and confidentially, whatever your circumstances, race, age, sex, beliefs, religion, culture, or background.
    • Partners or family members are welcome.
    • In counselling after miscarriage, abortion or stillbirth trained counsellors or support workers will listen and offer emotional support while you work through all that you are feeling.
    • In pregnancy choices counselling, trained counsellors or support workers will listen and offer emotional support - without judging or imposing their own views.
      • Information will be given on all the options and the support that is available for each - including the contact details of medical centres if a client who has chosen termination of pregnancy, does not want to go to her own doctor for referral.
    • All our counsellors and support workers have been specifically trained in Pregnancy Choices and our long-term counsellors and support workers are also specifically trained for Pregnancy Loss. The counsellors also hold diplomas in person-centred counselling.
    • All the team are DBS checked and receive ongoing training and supervision to ensure good practice.
    • The team work in accordance with the code of ethics of BACP (British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy) & ACC (Association of Christian Counsellors).
    • We want to provide a service that anyone can access and so we do not charge for our counselling.
